The team of Novartis specialists within Insights & Analytics are on a data and digital transformation journey, using analytics to generate impactful insights for Novartis medicines impacting more than 500 million patients worldwide. The team is poised to enable easier, faster, and reliable decisions for Novartis divisions across the globe.
Your responsibilities include but not are limited to:
Processes: Build deep understanding of the different data warehouses and the datasets available for analytics along with the business rules applied to build the datasets. Build deep understanding of the existing workflows used by the analytics teams and how outputs are generated currently. Build the ETL workflows to transform the data from source to a Tellius ready format crafted in close liaison with the Tellius Specialist, translate business rule documents into a code workflowEnsure any changes in business logic is reflected in the Augmented Analytics platform as well. Incorporate changes in business views based on user feedback. Work with TT and OneOps to ensure permissions management and notification management is streamlined. Work with the TT and OneOps to ensure the instance is cleaned up and users are not overloading the system capabilities. Documenting bugs found on the platform and flagging it to the Tellius/One Ops team. Ability to quickly learn new platforms such as Tellius etc. and build in-depth understanding of the platform features to provide better business view designData : Lead the data pipeline and ensure data is refreshed seamlessly with the help of automation techniques. Ensure DQ post ingestion into Tellius ready format and Tellius system. Build a framework with QC checklist to maintain high quality workEnsure DQ is maintained and numbers from Augmented Analytics align with existing results provided by the teamBuild and maintain connections to existing/created Analytical Ready DatasetsCustomer engagement : Proactively identify and highlight enhancements that address the needs of the business users. Ensure seamless communication with end users on dataset updates/known issues etc.Implement strong data governance processes to run multiple teams working on different business views. Support user adoption on the Augmented Analytics programIdentify independent use cases based on existing adhoc/regular results and push for adoption of Augmented Analytics in such cases. Add any new takeaways/calculated columns required as per the business needs to enhance the business views

Minimum requirements
What you’ll bring to the role:
Extensive experience in building out ETL workflows from scratch using either SQL (or SQL based tools). ETL experience in DataIKU or Alteryx would be preferred. Clarity of thought in understanding the level of a table, how columns are aggregated and calculatedKnowledge of sophisticated joins (Cross, Inner, Left, Self), Case when statements, partition clauses (Market share type of calculations)Experience designing the backend of a BI tool (preferrably Qliksense) including the pros and cons of different table joins and data models. Experience working in a sophisticated environment with multiple teams/partnersFlexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change. Strong individual performer taking ownership of tasks at hand without needing handholdingSolid understanding of Microsoft Excel. Basic knowledge of Augmented analytics and Tellius as a platform. Ability to constructively challenge requirements and current state to increase overall value to the firm. Knowledge of statistics/data science skills would be an added advantageEducation (minimum/desirable): B-TECH/M.S/ in Computer Science, Robotics, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Cognitive Sciences, Psychology, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Medicine, Technology, Management Science, Quantitative Methods and other related disciplines.
