The team you’ll be part of

The Nokia ION Network Automation team creates software which provides superior management and automation of our IP, MPLS and VPN solutions. Our network automation product portfolio is more than superior. It is the best.
The Network Functions Manager for Packet (NFM-P), a part of NSP (Network and Services Platform) provides management of the ION portfolio; including but not limited to the 7750 Service Router (SR), 7450 Ethernet Service Switch (ESS), 7210 Service Access Switch (SAS), 7950 Core Router (XRS), 7250 IXR, wavence, Omniswitch and 7705 Service Aggregation Router (SAR). A key differentiator in the ION portfolio, the NSP (NFM-P) provides the full set of FCAPS functionality and web GUI apps to over 750 customers around the world. NRC-X – SDN Controller, TSC – Transport Slice Controller and 400G Z

As a Software Developer on our team, you will be challenged! The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:
Participating in the development and standardization of next-generation networking management applications.Working in a team-based Agile Environment; collaborate with Developers, Testers, and Product Management to refine requirements, develop, and test our Carrier grade solutions.

Your skills and experience

Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent with 8+ years of work experience
Hands on experience in Core Java, J2EE, XML, golang, micro-service environment.Experience in developing highly distributed, highly scalable, carrier-grade products.Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design.Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skill is required.Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and to work in a fast paced, innovative environmentPassionate on software development, test automation and combining technology and user experienceKnowledge on network management concepts, protocols and modelling (e.g. NetConf-Yang, gNMi, SNMP, RESTCONF) Desirable Skills:Experience in developing EMS/NMS products which manage telecommunication and IP networks.Knowledge on Microservices, OSGi, Docker/Kubernetes, Kafka, Zookeeper.NRS-2 or equivalent certification

You have:

Very Good understanding of IP Networks (Routing, MPLS, Traffic Engineering, RSVP-TE etc.) and/or Optical Networks(OTN, CDC, GMPLS)
Experience in Architecting and developing server-side Java applications
Good knowledge of concurrency and synchronisation issues/techniques in a multithreaded and multiprocessor environment
Strong understanding of design issues related to software abstraction and componentization versus system performance.
Knowledge of network management concepts , protocols and modelling (e.g. REST, RESTCONF, NetConf-Yang)
>5 years of programming experience in Java
It would be nice if you also had:
Knowledge on OSGi, Microservices, Docker, Kafka, Zookeeper
Knowledge of graph databases like Neo4j
Good knowledge of Java Spring Framework
Experience of working on SDN controllers like ONOS, Open Daylight and Optical Network Controllers
Experience in the development based upon deep knowledge of Routing and Switching Protocols in IP/Optical Networks (including the algorithms underlying these protocols)
Demonstrated experience in design of highly scalable and fault tolerant system including hitless software upgrade, distributed control and redundancy.
