We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Software Engineer
In this role, you will:
End User Services provides the solutions and services that enable HSBC staff and systems to operate and communicate on a daily basis. End User Services consists of Workspace Platforms, Collaboration Platform and HelpDesk & Support Platform. End User Services acts as the face of IT Infrastructure Delivery to HSBC internal customers.
The Workspace Platform owns the engineering & services for products such as Desktop, Laptops, Virtual Connect (VDI), Apple Mac Mobile, ChatBot, Endpoint Management platform & tools, Endpoint Protection, Asset Management, Vulnerability Management and Software Delivery.
This role is a developer role for one of the Engineering teams within Workspace Platform.
Job Description
Develop and support automated solutions.
Analyze & Review requirements and scope for new solutions & changes.
Designing solutions fit for business , improve end user experience & built for scalability
Integrating front-end UIs with the constructed API
Design and implementation of continuous integration and deployment
Perform effort estimates, and risk analysis. Agree requirements, scope & delivery schedule. Identify & implement necessary mitigation plan for risks/issues.
Deliver within schedule by adhering to the engineering and Quality standards.
Perform post release reviews, implement actions & improvements.
Participate in troubleshooting of incidents for applications / solution designed by the team. This would require joining crisis call and working with teams and vendors for a resolution.
Performing trend analysis of the incidents and/or issues reported to the team, review them with relevant platform owners as appropriate, and help design a solution to resolve them permanently.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
5 to 8 years of experience in Software Development
Proficiency with fundamental front end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Proficiency with Scripting frameworks such as Angular, React, Amber, JQuery, PowerShell, VBScript.
Proficiency with server side languages such as Python and .Net.
Development experience on .NET Technologies & Framework (C#, VB, ASP) , IIS.
Experience in MS SQL database and developing applications with MS SQL.
Database migrations experience will be advantage. MS SQL Developer with knowledge of SSIS & SSRS will be an advantage
Experience Collaboration & tracking tools (like JIRA, Confluence) & Software Version Controlling (Git, GitHUB, etc)
API/Dev-Ops Engineer having experience on automating manual process would be advantage. (Using Python, Jenkins, Test Automation), Service Now integration/development.
Knowledge of Infrastructure will be advantageous – Windows Server & Desktop OS, WSUS, SQL Server, Storage, and Network Technologies, Active Directory, SCCM & experience in development of tools and automations that interact with IT Infrastructure would be advantage.
Experience related to Azure & development for applications/services in Azure, will be advantageous
Skills in PowerBI, DAX , Machine Learning, AI are desirable and will be advantageous
Practical experience & knowledge of Agile methodologies (Kanban, Scrum) is desired. Experience as Agile Lead or Scrum Master will be advantage
Knowledge of service management techniques including incident, problem, change, release management
Effective and clear communication skills (written, oral and listening), with ability to describe complex technical scenarios in a concise manner depending on the audience.
Strong sense of ownership & urgency, ability to prioritize, attention to detail, flexibility, process orientation, strong analytical skills, sense of vigilance & adherence to all compliance procedures & policies, multi-tasking & time management skills.
Ability to lead meetings with the stakeholders, as needed, for application design, requirement gathering, infrastructure design, database design, crisis calls will be desired.
Ability to work across geographies and time zones with a variety of teams and dealing with global stakeholders across functions.
Flexible, adaptable and able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in the face of adversity.
Industry standard certifications in the technology area of work would be preferred
Experience of having worked in an infrastructure critical environment for a large organization like HSBC would be advantage.
Working Hours
Regular working days are from Monday to Friday, India business hours.
Candidates are expected to have a flexible approach in working and may be required to work in shifts and weekends as per project demand/schedule.
Candidates may be required to be able provide on call support during weekends or non-business hours.
