At the Sabio Group we are looking for an exceptionally driven and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Delivery department.

The purpose of the role is to undertake the design, development, and support of software for specific applications, including on-line, real-time and
network systems.

Developing components using high-level languages (such as Java, C#), build tools (maven, docker, nuget), vendor specific tooling such as Avaya OD, database design techniques and developing a variety of software including client UI, contact centre supporting software and speech focused applications.

Its scope covers all aspects from detailed programming to high level system design from the concept or model stage, and in all development phases from requirements definition to setting to work and acceptance the resource planning of the Implementation Services teams, both Consultants and Specialists
Key Responsibilities
Engineer solutions to be as flexible, efficient, agile, scalable, reliable and cost effective as possible
Ability to work in a controlled way , with little guidance on familiar code bases
Responsible for designing and implementing bespoke software for customers projects
Technical guidance and mentoring of other software engineers and junior software engineers, Including new starts
Test against test criteria by creating and executing manual test plans and by writing automated unit tests
Support peers with constructive feedback , • Provide Project Manager with status reports
Hand project over to customer and tech. support team in the form of a user/support guide and training
Updating internal systems
Documentation of solution to ensure knowledge shared.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Educated to degree level or equivalent , Experience in programming using object-oriented languages (such as Java)
Are able to anticipate patterns and links; looking beyond the immediate problem to the wider implications
Great time management with self and the team in order to reach team targets
Confidence when proposing new ideas
Ability to work well under pressure and when dealing with customer escalations.
Pro-actively acts to understand client needs and offer assistance even when not asked.
Attention to detail, double-checks own work to ensure accuracy.
Experience in a technical environment , Experience in programming scripting languages (such as bash, powershell, python)
Experience in integration with third-party services (via SOAP/REST)
Experience in writing design documentation, method statements and user guides essential
Experience in creating clearly documented analysis, design and test specifications essential
Presentation skills Knowledge of recognised development-related standards (e.g. Web Services)
Development lifecycle experience – from problem statement through to release.
Understanding of common systems architectures
Good spoken and written English: able to explain issues clearly and in detail
Experience of development using a speech application framework such as Avaya Orchestration Designer or Voice Objects
Has knowledge of the market Sabio stands in.
