Job Description : BCP is one of the largest local authorities nationally, and is on a major improvement and transformation journey. Our ambition is to be amongst the very best of children’s social care services in the country. We have strong aspirations to provide the very best services for the children and families we work with, and we will get there over the next few years.
Central to this vision is a commitment to developing and maintaining an effective and stable workforce.
We aim to make rapid progress, as a local authority, under new strategic Children’s Services leadership. Our ambition is to increase the job satisfaction and remuneration of our front line workers and managers. We understand their value and the incredibly impact they have on our most vulnerable, children, young people and families.
We are currently looking for social workers with two years or more post qualifying experience. If you join our Service, you will have access to a range of post-qualifying training and learning opportunities, many of which are delivered in partnership with our local university. For experienced staff joining us who want to develop their career as Practice Educators, you will have access to training and CPD support. In every team there are opportunities to teach and to support students, including those on our Step up To Social Work programme.
Our structure has been designed with consistency for children and families in mind. We are looking for Social Workers to join our UASC, Children in Care, Fostering and Private Fostering Service areas.
As part of our commitment to career development we actively encourage opportunities to transfer between services to allow the development of new skills and perspectives in the work. We have a graduated level of career progression for social workers and advancement is linked to increased salary reflective of the seniority and experience of the worker. We have a range of vacancies available at each of our three career progression levels across several different teams.
If you have strong social work values and are passionate about working with children, young people to keep them safe, and to support them and their families or carers to be the best they can be; then you are who we are looking for.
