Job Description : Software Developer – Edinburgh City Centre (remote for now/will consider fully remote working) – an opportunity to join a large global Fintech company. A growing organisation who have been established in Edinburgh for many years – a hugely successful company, whose Edinburgh office has retained a close-knit feel.
You’ll join a squad of six within a wider Development team of around 40. They’re a friendly and sociable bunch.
It is important to the company that their Engineers are constantly challenged and learning new things. They hold regular career development/review meetings and the team have access to online resources to keep their skills sharp.
Their tech stack includes (you don’t need to be an expert in everything):
C# .NET
Ideally, exposure to XAML/UI technologies (e.g. WPF, UWP, WinUI, Xamarin, Silverlight).Java, Oracle, PL/SQL
Source control.
CI/CD (they use TeamCity and Jenkins).
Agile/Scrum.
If you can champion Agile practices within the organisation, this is a huge bonus. If you can mentor your colleagues and help them upskill with modern web and cloud technologies (JavaScript, React, AWS) then this would also be massively advantageous; the team are working towards a more product-based setup and moving towards the cloud.
There is a strong package of benefits on offer; contributory pension, discretionary bonuses, flexible working, cycle to work and secure bike facilities and showers, medical/healthcare, the ability to buy/sell holidays. They are working remotely at present and are likely to adopt a hybrid approach going forward. The salary on offer is up to circa £50,000. They are open on career level and will consider Engineers in the early stages of their career.
