Department Overview
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team is responsible for the development and operations of critical cloud infrastructure and platform services, in support of Motorola Solutions’ public and hybrid cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for public safety customers. This team is part of Motorola Solutions’ Software Enterprise division, which offers secure, reliable and efficient team communications, workflow and operational intelligence solutions for mission critical public safety and enterprise markets throughout the world. Our services leverage Cloud Computing infrastructure on Azure to build at scale.
Job Description
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team is responsible for:
Design and implementation of the continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline into multiple public cloud regions
Development and operation of common platform services that can be leveraged by our SaaS solutions moving forward
Overall reliability and security of these services and the environments they are run in
Monitoring and support for these platform and infrastructure services, as well as metrics collection and reporting related to them
As an engineer on this team, you will be a key contributor to platform development activities. The right individual will be motivated and will have a passion for platform development, automation, and enabling innovation. Your efforts will help to shape engineering culture and best practices across Motorola Solutions’ Software Enterprise organization.
Basic Requirements
Responsibilities will include:
Design and development of custom software solutions that centralize common functionality
Building a robust Continuous Integration, Delivery and Deployment platform
Develop automation tools and services to minimize delivery time and increase developer productivity.
On-call, night, and weekend work are occasionally required for services developed by the team
Qualifications:
Experience as a member of teams responsible for the complete life cycle of services from design through operation
Experience with modern authorization and authentication protocols such as OAuth2 and OpenId Connect
Experience in Ping federate, Ping Directory and Ping Data Governance
Experience in user provisioning to Ping directory
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior operating experience with LDAP compatible directories like ping directory and SSO servers such as PingFederate.
Prior experience working with Kubernetes and Docker will be a plus
Experience developing and deploying services on Microsoft Azure
