Job Description Summary: The PayPal Risk team is looking for Senior Software Engineer, who is passionate to solve large scale highly complex computer engineering problems. You build strong competencies in data structures and algorithms, along with a technical fascination for how everything ties together. You need to have a solid foundational knowledge of computer engineering and intellectual curiosity to understand the business
Job Description:
The Risk Integrations team is responsible for the design, development and support of Risk APIs that are integrated with key strategic partners. Our solutions need to scale across millions of such interactions, working with petabyte plus data, integrating with various other APIs in real time and yet providing high availability and configurability to the business. To achieve this we are always looking at advances in technology and science and tying those back to business needs.
To help with this, we are always looking for strong technologists who are passionate to solve large scale highly complex computer engineering problems, in a repeatable and maintainable way. Our engineers build strong competencies in data structures and algorithms, along with a deep understanding of business processes.
Minimum qualifications:PhD, Masters or Bachelors Degree or Equivalent in Computer Science or related technical discipline with 5+ years of work experience building large scale Java applicationsStrong experience in Java and designing and implementing REST APIsHands on experience with design and development of scalable web services and platformsVery strong foundational knowledge of Knowledge in Object-Oriented Design Principles, Data Structures, Algorithms, DBMS/SQL, Operating Systems, and Software EngineeringKnowledge of UNIX/Linux or Windows environments and APIsWorking knowledge of web technologies (such as HTTP, HTML/DOM, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX) is beneficialAbility to work in a fast paced, Agile development environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
