Job description
PHPRU FW provides high quality assessment and teaching of young children with complex special educational needs, including Autism and Speech and Language difficulties, from the age of 4 to 7 years old. Due to promotion, the Management Committee of PHPRU are seeking to appoint a full time, permanent, Teacher in Charge to join the established team from September 2022.
The successful candidate will have experience of, and an interest in, working with reception and year one children and be prepared to develop expertise in ASD/SLCN/PD The role will involve planning, delivery and assessment of appropriate learning opportunities (academic, emotional and physical) for complex, KS1/2 children. The successful candidate will be required to act as SENCO and liaise with multi agencies and parents, working to strict timescales. The candidate will manage a team of 13 other staff members
We are looking for someone:
To develop and deliver an appropriate and outstanding curriculum and provision planning
To assess and teach young children who have complex special educational needs
To support the development of FW provision with particular reference to the teaching and assessment of young children with Communication, Interaction and Access Needs (ASD/SLCN/PD)
To promote and support the achievement of all children through work with officers, agencies, schools, families and children where ASD, SLCN and/or PD is a factor
To participate as a team member in the operation, promotion, evaluation and development of the Forest Wood Assessment Centre
To be an outstanding practitioner who provides stimulating learning opportunities and enjoys working with young children
To identify staff training for the provision
