Job Description : For September 2022 we are looking to appoint a well-qualified and skilled teacher of History to become a committed member of our successful department.
Highfields is a vibrant, popular school with approximately 1300 students, including 200 in our sixth form. We are situated in Matlock, on the south eastern edge of the beautiful Peak District and within easy reach of Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham. Our students are friendly and highly motivated. We were judged as a good school by Ofsted in May 2017 and are committed to continuous improvement in all aspects of our work.
We are at an exciting stage of our development and this is a great opportunity to make a strong contribution to the life of the school. Our core purpose is to be an inclusive, happy community that values every individual and inspires them to achieve their full potential.
We wish to appoint a talented colleague who:
Is motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to inspire students of all ages and abilities.
Has excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and is committed to working as a member of a team to continually improve the education we provide
Can demonstrate real commitment to high quality teaching and learning, with a proven track record of delivering excellent lessons
Is willing to contribute fully to the life of the school and who is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
In turn we offer a supportive working environment with excellent CPD and development opportunities. Highfields are proud to be a part of East Midlands Education Trust (EMET), a partnership of schools whose mission is to raise the educational standards and improve the life chances of all the children within our organisation. EMET comprises high performing schools who represent the full age range of 3-19, along with an alternative education provider, and the trust places great emphasis on collaborative working within a family of schools approach. Our schools enjoy a high degree of ‘aligned autonomy’ whilst, at the same time, being supported by a central trust team who help support the highest quality of provision possible.
