We are growing and are looking for support workers to join us during this exciting phase!*The Role*The primary purpose of your role as a Youth Support Worker is to provide high-quality, effective and responsive care to young people in our care.Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be responsible for the following:Assist with activities relating to personal wellbeing, household management, and lifestyle including general household maintenance, transport services and supervised contactDevelop positive relations with children and young people in care by helping them build their sense of self-regard, community inclusion and life skillsEncourage the development of social skills, both communication and social activitiesRespite care*About you*As the Youth Support Worker, you are a reliable, caring and passionate person who is looking to make a difference in the lives of those around you. You are also positive in nature and possess empathy for children in our care. In addition, you will have:Demonstrated experience working within a Youth Service or Disability care environmentExcellent communication skills; both written and oralStrong Interpersonal skills will allow you to engage and build strong relationships with clientsA clear understanding and awareness of privacy and confidentiality principlesCompetent in the use of a computer and mobile app applicationsAbility to work a 24/7 roster which includes days, evenings, awake shifts, sleepovers and weekendsCurrent Drivers Licence with comprehensive car insuranceCertificate IV or higher in Community Services or Youth WorkSatisfactory Police Check or an NDIS Workers Screening ClearanceBlue CardFirst Aid CertificateHope and Healing Certificate (or willing to obtain)Perks of the roleConnecting Families prides itself on its culture.
