Job Description : The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:
Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas
Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users
Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement
Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality
Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems
Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
5-8 years of relevant experience
Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications
Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods
Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Role / Position Overview:
This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to work within the Equities Technology group and work closely with a front-office business unit and established technology teams to develop our strategically important platform.
The Equities business has set an ambitious growth plan, and strong technical development is critical to achieving our goals and enhancing our leading position in the financial market. The successful candidate will play a key role in that success. This is a fast paced, challenging team of highly experienced technologists and you will be expected to have strong prior front office experience.
This is a key position, working with multiple groups: the front-office business, development, QA, Infrastructure groups and Production support. This position involves: Requirements analysis and capture, working closely with the business users and other technology teams to define solutions. Implementing these solutions using Citi’s strategic market access platform (GMAX). Third line support of the platform during trading hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Work within a global team of experienced Venue Engineers to establish and maintain connectivity from Citi gateways to our internal/external trading venues.
Building relationship with internal and external teams, the successful applicant will be responsible for end to end delivery of prioritized connectivity streams of work.
Communicate effectively with business, development, QA, infrastructure and production support teams.
Use technical skills to ensure business requirements are understood at all levels of delivery.
Assist with troubleshooting and issue resolution across development, support and technical business users.
Establish strong working relationships across different technology areas (QA, Support, etc.).
Provide ongoing support after implementation, whilst working on new enhancements and additional phases.

Knowledge/Experience:
Good experience in FIX Protocol/Fix onboarding as well as Binary protocols.
Good exposure to market connectivity, Firewall and networks.
Good understanding of electronic trading and financial markets.
Experience of working in a trading environment.
Good Analytical and Project Coordination skills.

Aegis Client Simulator or other FIX testing/certification tools
Qualifications:
