Nutanix Database Engineering Solutions team is responsible for development/test of Best Practices and Reference Architecture guides regarding Databases on Nutanix, as well as helping out with pre and post-sales support .
We work in a collaborative environment where everyone is encouraged to try new things and come up with new solutions. Within the DB Engineering Solutions team, you’ll find no shortage of challenging problems to work on.
The automation test engineer combines knowledge across a wide range of products / technologies (Operating Systems, Databases, Virtualization) and hands-on experience with the development of tools/scripts.
We are looking for an experienced team player that can help us by building and maintaining tools related to:
Automatic deployment of different database solutions across different infrastructure stacks
Orchestration of the execution of different benchmarking tools, designing the end-2-end workflow (deployment execution data gathering data analysis data visualization)
Development of tools to be leveraged by our field teams (SE/GSO) and by our customers
Responsibilities:
Work with different Nutanix’s Engineering teams to use existing tools and help to create new ones
Automation framework development and enhancements
Develop automation for running benchmarks, collect and interpret results
Develop and execute automated test scripts
Document defects, bugs, performance regressions and work on RCA/improvement plan
Evaluate new upcoming technologies and provide feedback on the technologies to keep an eye/invest on
Provide help to install, support, and maintain Nutanix solutions during strategic Proof of Concept (POC) deployments
Stay well ahead of the learning curve in your area of expertise and related business trends
Requirements:
Familiar with one of the following domains – Databases (Oracle/MS-SQL/PostgreSQL), Storage (SAN/NAS/HCI), Virtualization
Experience with trouble shooting and debugging in Linux or Windows environments.
Knowledge of PowerShell, Bash scripting, Python, T-SQL
Experience with infrastructure automation frameworks such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet etc.
Understanding of Virtualization, Networking, Operation System
Experience with commercial or open-source database engines
Hands on experience with Benchmarking tools like HammerDB, Benchmark Factory, or others
Knowledge of public cloud solutions/offerings like AWS RDS, Azure, GCP is a plus
Flexible, dependable, self-starter, capable of quickly learning new products and technologies
Excellent oral and written communications skills, as well as excellent presentation skills
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software development, or equivalent work experience
Previous experience as a test automation engineer
Excellent problem-solving skills
Highly accurate and detail-oriented
5+ years experience
Location: India (remote based)
Travel: Travel as required
