Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Logistics Optimization Specialist to support Square’s mission of economic empowerment. As part of the Hardware Logistics team, you will be responsible for optimization projects to improve the efficiency of logistics execution. This would include inbound and outbound transportation projects, network modeling, inventory deployment and service scenario options. The specialist will develop models and help formulate strategies that allow us to evaluate solutions across key markets. The ideal candidate has experience as an individual contributor and is highly organized, analytical and comfortable working independently. The role is open to remote but standard working hours can initially focus around PST.
You Will:
Work cross functionally to optimize logistics (inbound transportation, warehousing nodes, Asia-direct to customer strategies, Vendor analysis, pricing models) and broader supply chain strategies.
Apply analytics and data based decision making utilizing data product management or equivalent which impact product perceptions via operations.
Contribute to building scalable data analysis, predictive/prescriptive Ai, visualization and operations enhancing products.
Experience applying both data based decision making and hypothesis tests to solve business problems.
Fluency with data, analytics, and visualization technologies (such as SQL, Looker, Power BI, R/Python, machine learning algorithms, API/EDI data integration, cloud platforms).
Drive innovation and utilization of state-of-art technologies and vendors.
Collaboration and planning with regional logistics operations teams, systems, finance and other internal partners.
Understand current business landscape to optimize Square’s network.
Identification of business gaps and risks and propose scenarios to leadership teams.
Identify and develop metrics used to monitor logistics performance and supply chain strategies.
Work with stakeholders to develop and document new standards, procedures, cost models & evaluation methods that include warehousing, network design, transportation management.
Find improvement opportunities focused on streamlining existing processes.

Qualifications
You Have:
3-5 years of related work experience in financial and operational analysis, preferably within the tech ecommerce space.
Experience building analytical products in the enterprise and/or SaaS environments.
Experience applying both data based decision making and hypothesis tests to solve business problems.
Fluency with data, analytics, and visualization technologies (such as SQL, Looker, Power BI, R/Python, machine learning algorithms, API/EDI data integration cloud platforms).
Familiarity with carrier pricing and network offerings.
A robust understanding of global supply chains and logistics workstreams.
Strong Excel skills. Ability to analyze large operational and sales data sets.
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and practical problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational skills.
BA in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or similar field preferred
