Job Responsibilities:
All day-to-day management of the VMs including: installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, patching, backup and recovery
Hands on of VMware products: ESXi 5,6 & 6.5 Virtual Center 5, 6 & 6.5, VSAN, vCOPs, vROPs, NSX
Infrastructure management for VMware, Hyper-V, and Citrix
Knowledge of VMware CLI commands, troubleshooting
Responsible for maintaining the virtual infrastructure operating systems, VMs on servers which support business-processing requirements.
Troubleshooting experience of Windows and Linux operating systems.
Working knowledge of one of the following: WSUS, SCCM, SCOM & SCVMM
Knowledge of vCenter appliance and Linux
Experience with Veeam backup application and general storage platforms
24 / 7 support model
Additional duties as and when required, as per the organization requirement
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
VMware Administrator should have following skill sets:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience with the following is required:
All day-to-day management of the VMs including: installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, patching, backup and recovery
Maintaining the virtual infrastructure operating systems, VMs on servers which support business-processing requirements
Maintain, upgrade, and implement improvements to the VMWare vCenter infrastructure (appliance) & VMWare ESXi infrastructure.
Maintain VM templates for building servers in the virtual environment
Proactively monitor event logs for changes or errors and take appropriate actions to resolve issues
Manage available virtual and storage resources within the infrastructure environment
Taking Clone Snapshot of Production VMs when required
Collaborate with team members to resolve problems
Patch management of the VMs
Hands on experience in updating / upgrading ESXi servers, Virtual Center servers and windows virtual machines using VMware Update manager and manual upgrades for Patching
Experience in Windows clustering Administration, troubleshooting and Microsoft failover clustering manager
DHCP, DNS troubleshooting
Patching tools WSUS/SCCM
Understanding of supporting technologies: Active Directory, IIS, DHCP/DNS, Systems Management, Optimization Tuning, High Availability configurations (Microsoft Clustering, etc.).
Knowledge of local and remote computer system diagnostic tools.
Understand the storage configuration, LUN creation procedures and policies.
Preparing documents knowledge database, work instructions etc.
General Storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, FibreChannel, iSCSI, traditional vs. All-flash (Dell EMC, HPE)
Working knowledge on ticketing tool
Working knowledge of Linux commands and vCenter troubleshooting
Below certifications will be an added advantage:
VCP 6.X Certification or trainings
MCITP Certification
AWS & AZURE Certification
Veeam Certification
