Job Description : Band 8a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to work within the North Warwickshire Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Team.

Band 7 /8a preceptorship can be considered for newly qualified psychologists.

Hours: 37.5 (1.0 WTE) (flexible part time hours can be considered)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our North Warwickshire Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Team. The team works with people with complex non-psychosis mental health presentations. Psychological services staff are embedded within the Community Mental Health Team and we are therefore looking for someone who values and enjoys multi-disciplinary working and has a high level of understanding of the distinct contribution and added value that psychological approaches can make to the team.

If appointed to the band 7 role this will be a development post with progression to the Band 8a role upon the successful completion of competency requirements. It is expected that this will be achievable within a period of 18 months to two years and will be dependent on the experience of the successful candidate. Whilst these requirements are not met, the role will remain as a Band 7. Therefore we welcome applications from newly qualified clinical or counselling psychologists, including those expecting to complete their clinical training this year.

For more information on this role please see the attached support information. This will give you a better overview of the job role and requirements.

This would be an ideal post for a HCPC registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist who in addition to developing their assessment and therapy skills is keen to expand their experience of group-work, psychological consultation, staff training and supervision. The post holder will join a friendly and well-established team of psychologists and CBT therapists. The service has bases at Rugby and Nuneaton. However there is likely to be a mixture of remote and face to face working dependent on COVID 19 restrictions.

It is an exciting time to be joining the team due to new developments that will be taking place within the service as part of the Community Mental Health Transformation Programme. New pathways are being developed based on a trauma-informed care approach and we are keen to develop our consultation and supervision input to the wider team. Our current team of Psychological Therapists are dedicated to high quality, evidence-based service provision, including EMDR, Trauma -Focused CBT, Compassion Focused Therapy and Relational/Psychodynamic Therapy.

Staff from the North Warwickshire Service have close links with other Psychological Therapists within the Trust who have a wide range of interests and experiences. Therefore there are opportunities to share learning and develop together through peer supervision, service development meetings, special interest groups, CPD events and our Annual Psychological Services Conference. We are keen to support research opportunities and have strong links with the Coventry and Warwickshire Doctorate in Clinical Psychology course. The service regularly offers core and specialist trainee placements.

Please note Trust interviews are currently taking place through Microsoft Teams, this can be downloaded either through the App Store or Google Play for use on your phone/tablet.
