POSITION OVERVIEW

Canberra Health Services (CHS) is focussed on the delivery of high quality, effective, person-centred care. The Clinical Nurse Consultant RN3.2 position will be responsible for the operational management and leadership of Canberra Community Dialysis Centre (CCDC). The successful applicant will be able to manage efficiently, lead quality improvement, participate in research and coordinate the delivery of care to patients who receive treatment at CCDC.
The position is full time working Monday to Friday within business hours, provides clinical support, education, and care coordination for patients.
DUTIES

Under limited direction of the Assistant Director of Nursing you will perform:
Provide management of human, financial and material resources efficiently; to lead and coordinate the multidisciplinary team to provide safe, and efficient care, quality improvement and participate in research.
Provide leadership in coordinating a clinical service team ensuring proficient, professional, and appropriate day to day operational management of client care delivery. Including for the management of clinical and staff issues for nurses and support staff within CCDC while be accountable and responsible for resource expenditure and service delivery within budgetary requirements.
Lead and manage nurses in all aspects of clinical practice including planning, implementing, and evaluating professional development, managing education, teaching and workforce planning.
Lead, facilitation, and coordination in partnership with the multidisciplinary team to facilitate safe, efficient, client focused, and accessible services based on evidence and best practice.
Support change management, quality, and research initiative to achieve the strategic objectives of CCDC and the Division of Medicine, CHS.
Monitor relevant Key Performance Indicators, reporting initiatives and strategies, including new models of clinical care, to assist with meeting service delivery requirements.
Conduct/supervise and ensure implementation of CHS performance management agreements and learning and developing framework for all staff.
Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.

Position Requirements/Qualifications:
Holds or is working towards a post graduate qualification relevant to the specialty field.
Be registered or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA),
Hold a current driver’s licence.
Have an understanding of how the National Standards and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) indicators align with this role.
Fulfil the responsibilities of this role as detailed in the CHS Exceptional Care Framework, Clinical Governance Framework, Partnering With Consumers Framework and all other related frameworks.
Note: This is a temporary position available for a period of 11 months with the possibility of extension.

Prior to commencement successful candidates will be required to:
Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
Obtain a Compliance Certificate from OMU (Occupational Medicine Unit) relating to assessment, screening, and vaccination processes against specified infectious diseases.

Proven leadership in achieving a high standard of quality nursing services including operational and clinical management, strategic planning, and policy development skills with a commitment to high quality customer service.
Demonstrated ability to manage and achieve performance indicators in the management of financial and human resources, quality and risk management and innovative problem-solving skills in service delivery.
Demonstrated ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team with highly developed oral and written communication skills to implement changes that respond and improve clinical outcomes for patients.
Ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver timely access to clinical services for patients.
Demonstrates understanding of, and adherence to, safety and quality standards, Work, Health and Safety (WHS) and the positive patient experience. Displays behaviour consistent with CHS’s values of Reliable, Progressive, Respectful, and Kind.
