Job Description : The Database Administrator will be primarily experienced in MySQL/Aurora with knowledge of Cloud technologies. Additionally, they’ll be involved in administration of databases and their eco-systems; will support release, incident, problem, business continuity management practices; will patch, upgrade and comply with audit controls; will continuously improve database service quality to ensure stability and high availability. You are experienced in implementing; securing, supporting and upgrading enterprise infrastructure, ensuring the infrastructure, which runs corporate applications, are correctly monitored and highly available as required.Knowledge of a second database technology which could be one of PostgreSQL, MongoDB or Redshift will be an added advantage.Candidates will need to possess working knowledge of Cloud technologies of AWS and Azure including Compute (EC2, Auto Scaling, Lambda etc), Storage (S3, EFS, EBS etc.), Network (VPC, ELB’s, Route 53 etc).Candidates are expected to work in a rotating 24 x 5 model and also provide on-call support as required by business.Service DesignTo ensure scalability, availability and security of the database infrastructure.To manage the governance process for technical policy, standards and guidelines.To drive best practice designs that promote stability and operational efficiency.Service TechnologiesTo provide guidance on core database competency to business in:Minimum of 7 years of experience working with MySQL, Aurora and/or other databases.Should possess knowledge and concept of infrastructure and databases.Amazon AWS Database & Related Technologies – RDS & EC2 hosted databases.Should have a reasonable understanding of AWS.Certification in core competency preferred. (Desired, but not required)Good understanding of platform O/S (Linux & Windows)Good understanding of platform scripting (Bash, PowerShell)Good Understanding of database / application interfaces (SQL*Net, jdbc, odbc)Provide 24*7 supports for production, development, and test databases.Be responsible for standard databases administration duties: including, but not limited to, installation, patching and change migration, monitoring, backup and recovery.Build, upgrade, migrate and maintain databases.Should possess strong security concepts and data protection strategies including encryption and fine-grained access controls.Implement proper security and access controls and keep the databases patched for security vulnerabilities.Should have sufficient knowledge of hardware and software load balancersMySQL/Aurora: Minimum of 7 years of experience working with MySQL, Mariadb, Percona databases and/or other databases is mandatory.Minimum 4+ years of experience with AWS RDS (Aurora-MySQL, DynamoDB and Redshift etc.) preferred.Should possess strong architecture knowledge and concept of infrastructure, databases.Should have reasonable understanding of network , security and access concepts on the cloud (AWS) such as VPC, security groups, NACL s, bastion servers etc.Should possess strong security concepts and data protection strategies including encryption and fine-grained access controls.Implement proper security and access controls and keep the databases patched for security vulnerabilities.Should have sufficient knowledge of hardware and software load balancers.Must be familiar with all replication technology: master-master, master-slave, circular etc.Should support/Administer i.e. manage, maintain and monitor Aurora databases in AWS and on-prem MySQL databases.Should have sound knowledge on the Cluster and parameter groups and CLI’sPerform 24×7 advanced tier troubleshooting, including off-hour maintenance and optimization activities, problem resolution, and on-call.Possess a working knowledge of database internals including locks, waits, transaction consistency, data integrity, recovery paths etc.Knowledge of containerization such as docker or Kubernetes and EKS services would be a huge plus.Must have performed MySQL/Aurora (cloud) database upgrades and patching with minimum downtime (rolling upgrades/patches).Should have experience in migrating on-prem MySQL databases to RDS using different methods like DMS, Replication etc.Should have worked directly with developers and engineers to review database models and design, indexes and queries.Perform database backups and recovery.Must know techniques of backing up tables, databases, utilities for backup and restoring them to a point-in-time or restore a master.Design and build Disaster Recovery strategies.OperationsResponsible for maintaining services to agreed Service Levels through effective management and communication to all parties.Responsible for alerting the Leadership team, Service managers and Business of any issues that impact production or result in reduced resilience during a production period.Is involved in the maintenance and regular testing of tier 0 disaster recovery plansJob Type: Full-timeSalary: ₹1,500,000.00 – ₹2,000,000.00 per yearSchedule:Morning shiftExperience:total work: 1 year (Preferred)
