About Role
We are looking for a Database Architect to help us build and enhance our database platforms to achieve availability, scalability and operational effectiveness. The right individual will embrace the opportunity to tackle challenging problems and use their influence to drive continual improvement. You will also work on the cutting edge technologies like, MySQL, Aerospike, Elasticsearch, RocksDB, Couchbase ,MongoDB, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Chef, Prometheus etc.
Job Responsibilities
Reviews and understands data models and ensures those models are mapped effectively and efficiently into physical data models that take advantage of the characteristics of the specific database management system (DBMS).
Utilizes scripting, such as Bash and python, to automate the provisioning and maintenance of database platforms.
Creates automated systems to monitor database performance and resource utilization.
Create solutions to enhance the performance and capacity of the systems.
Collaborates with application programmers on the effective use of database languages and advice on troubleshooting, exception processing needs, and other data management issues.
Creates automated systems to monitor and manage database security, backups, logs, and journals .
Installs, maintains, and upgrades database software. Restores and/or recovers data as required.
Mentors DB teams and development teams on database best practices.
Required Skills
12+ years’ DBA experience with Relational Database Management Systems (MySQL,Cassandra/Scylla).
6 years’ experience automating database systems
Strong hands-on experience in DB Internals
Strong hands-on experience in backup,recovery ,HA and DB Scalability including database implementation, tuning, troubleshooting and maintenance.
Knowledge of MongoDB,Postgresql,Couchbase DB, ES and Aerospike experience would be plus.
Strong desire for learning and growing database skills.
Experience in high transactional volume 2TB+ environments.
Educational QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or the equivalent through a combination of education and work experience.
