Job Description : Main Duties: To assist the Manager in managing the provision of the nursery ensuring thatchildren, parents and the staff team work together effectively to provide highquality childcare.To manage the occupancy ensuring maximum capacity.To manage a staff team effectively.To assist in the monitoring and assessing of the quality of provision ensuring thatpolicies and procedures, best practice and standards are maintained.To keep records of your key children’s development and learning journeys and share with parents, carers and other key adults in the child’s life.To oversee the management of all development files and ensure learning journal paperwork is up to date.Support all staff and engage in a good staff team.To develop and maintain strong partnerships and communication with parents/carers to facilitate day-to-day caring and early learning needs.To ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children having an awareness of any disabilities, family cultures and medical histories.To be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, summer fayre, etcTo be flexible within working practices of the setting, undertaking other responsible duties where needed, such as domestic tasks, preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, etc.*To work alongside the manager and staff team to ensure that the setting’s philosophy is fulfilled.To read, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role and the safe running of the setting.To develop your role within the team, especially with regard to being a key personTo keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff that is acquired as part of the job.To be aware of the high profile of the setting and to uphold its standards at all times, both in work hours and outside.To support all Early Years practitioners, students and volunteers.To ensure good standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times.To undertake and lead on additional responsibilities such as SENCO, training co-ordinator, safeguarding Officer etcTo support with the management of the Heart Preschool website and social media platforms used to help with marketingTo communicate with families via our Famly App and ensure assessment records are up to dateTo deal with enquiries and support with viewings and parent applicationsTo ensure the child observation cycle is carried out by staff and tracking records are keep up to dateTo lead team meetings and deliver sessions during INSET daysTo carry out and implement parents evenings and other Preschool events working alongside the Manager and other staff.To ensure robust cleaning schedules are in operation to implement control measures that are currently in place.To support the manager with reviewing policies and procedures of the setting.To support the manager during the OFSTED inspection process and work together to provide a quality care and education.To adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures.Personnel Specification A full and relevant Level 3 qualification as defined by the Children’s Workforce Development Council.To have a minimum of 2 years Early Years experience post Level 3 qualificationTwo satisfactory relevant referencesSatisfactory Enhanced DBS DisclosureRelevant skills in working with groups of children aged 0 – 5 years.The ability to support the Manager in all aspects of the efficient and organised administration of Preschool matters.A willingness to learn the policies and procedures of Heart Preschool and to abide by the staff rules.An excellent understanding of children’s development, their needs and the provision of positive play.An ability to provide a high quality, integrated early education and childcare service which complies with the Early Years Foundation Stage.The skills to supervise staff and be involved in the recruitment, induction, training, counselling and disciplining of staff.An ability to work with parents and outside agencies to ensure the individual learning requirements of children with particular needs, disabilities or those who require additional support.A commitment to the theory and practice of equal opportunities.An awareness of health and safety issues relating to the provision of daycare.An ability to work on own initiative and an ability to supervise other staff members.An ability to communicate effectively with parents and build a relationship of trust with them.An ability to produce high quality reports/documents as appropriate.A willingness to work as part of and contribute positively to the staff team.A willingness to adhere to the Heart Preschool dress
