ROLE
As a development manager of the team, you will be responsible to make your product, team and direct reports successful.
You will support the team to grow and overcome obstacles, support team members in identifying development opportunities and help them achieve their goals.
You are expected to know about the members of your extended team and share insights with your peer managers, look for opportunities to coach and
recognize employees directly and provide just-in-time feedback so that employees can reflect on your inputsimmediately.
You will be responsible for the management and advancement of individuals and team by building a high performing engineering team which is ready to take any complex and challenging assignment. This includes hiring the best people from within / outside the company, fostering motivation and integration of employees as well as team learning and development.
You will be setting clear yet challenging development goals with the team members, inspire and support them towards accomplishing those goals and evaluate goal achievement in a fair and understandable way.
You will be creating an environment of trust and co-ownership, actively seek to coach and help with personal development, offer feedback on a timely basis in an effort to nurture talents in the location. You will actively engage and resolve team issues.
You will be required to support cross topic execution with clarity and transparency outside of your management scope.
You will actively drive and participate in continuous improvement process, drive customer collaboration in alignment with internal product stakeholders, contribute as a management stakeholder building long-living, maintainable, high quality technical components.
As a development manager, you will build strategic partnerships with key decision makers in customer & partner organization, represent SAP to customers / partners, encourage and develop team to cooperate and to freely express their opinions, formulate clear objectives and strategies and work assignments, communicate messages in a timely and constructive manner to the development and leadership teams, listen openly and attentively to fully understand ideas and opinions within the team
As a member of a cross-functional scrum team, you will engage in all team activities including researching, planning, designing, implementing, testing, deploying and operating cloud native services running on SAP Business Technology Platform.
You need to proactively act to understand the business needs and offer solutions that align across business units, responsible for the team vision, strategic understanding of how the group’s technology contribute to the product strategy, build action plans and make operational decisions on policies, tactics, and resources critical to the function’s business success to ensure delivery against strategy of the function or team ensuring strategy roll-out in own team/organization.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
We are looking for a seasoned engineering manager with –
12+ years of experience leading and managing products and teams8+ years of experience in building distributed systems and cloud native apps / servicesA Computer Science degree from a premiere institute with excellent academic recordsDemonstrate excellent design, development, delivery, coordination and interpersonal skillHave the required skill and will to collaborate and succeed in a globally distributed team setupSound understanding of event driven architectures & development paradigms
