Job Description Summary: Over the last year, PayPal has introduced a range of new products and features for our customers around the world, significantly expanding the functionality of the PayPal app and introducing new ways to use PayPal in more places, both digitally and in physical environments. In 2021, PayPal introduced the new PayPal app, an all-in-one, personalized app that provides PayPal customers with a single destination to easily and securely manage their daily financial lives and do more with their money. This included new features and services like high yield savings, early access to direct deposit funds, new and improved bill pay functionality, messaging capabilities enabling family and friend communications, as well as additional crypto capabilities, and customized deals and offers. In the coming quarters, PayPal plans to add new features and enhancements to the app, including investment capabilities to enable customers to grow money and invest it in things like individual stocks and other assets. As a Director for the PayPal Core Brokerage Services for this brand new team, you will be responsible to define and drive the development of investment services globally across PayPal’s ecosystem. You will bring together a passion and diligence for creating exceptional Invest services along with business acumen and Brokerage expertise. You will collaborate closely with engineering and keep the team in sync with regular retrospectives and planning meetings. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across Engineering, Sales, Support, Product Marketing, Go to market, Risk & Compliance, to ensure that our enterprise and partner businesses get the best-in-class solutions and experiences. To be successful in this role, you must have the drive to create a new product and be willing to dive into key strategic initiatives with a keen eye for detail.
Job Description:
Define Product requirements and lead successful execution of initiatives that enable Invest Brokerage Services for PayPal, Venmo, and Partners.
Translate product Vision into specific deliverables, ensure rigor in execution and attention to detail by effectively managing the product feature backlog.
Represent the end customer on an ongoing basis and use this to drive effective prioritization and decisions (customer focus).
Evaluate strategic, tactical and risk management impacts of alternative trade-off decisions in the context of our product vision, goals and strategy, proposing sound, well-supported, fact-based recommendations to leadership.
Partner closely with engineering and architecture to help determine the best technical implementation/design while balancing time-to-market needs.
Serve as subject matter expert in specific broker/dealer product offerings, to other teams as needed.
Collaborate and influence product outcomes in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders – Engineering, Operations, Risk, Legal & Compliance, Sales, Business Development, Marketing, and UED
EXPERIENCE:
At least 10+ years’ experience providing end-to-end business direction and Product leadership
A minimum of combined 10+ years’ experience in Brokerage industry – Sell Side Brokerage, Buy Side Brokerage, Retail Brokerage
Subject matter expert across multiple asset classes, specifically CASH Equities and ETFs. Detailed market knowledge of Listed Options, Mutual Funds, or FX is desirable
Subject matter expert in Order Management and/or Order Execution systems, FIX Routing & Connectivity, Risk and pre/port trade Analytics is required
Series 7, Series 66 or (Series 63 and 65) required or must obtain within 6 months of employment
SKILLS
Ability to make decisions and progress in the face of ambiguous and at times overlapping priorities, i.e. Managing complex deliverables and maintaining high quality data standards while meeting project timelines
Highly developed communication and presentations skills with a superior ability to effectively communicate and present complex concepts and issues to leadership teams in a highly compelling, persuasive, fact-based manner.
Adept at working cross functionally with technology, service, marketing and product teams to create, implement and evolve our reporting solutions offering tangible, measurable client results.
Prior experience as an Agile Product Owner (Scrum/XP), with a deep understanding of the critical skillsets leveraged, including:
Product roadmap development and communication
Backlog grooming and prioritization
Partnership with architecture and engineering teams to ensure complete product definition, including both functional and non-functional requirements
Acceptance criteria and KPI implementation to drive product level Definition of Done
Cross-team prioritization and dependency management in a scaled Agile environment
