Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the collective Chemical industry voice within Emerson, Understand the Chemical industry dynamics and our readiness to serve.
Leverage the Chemical Industry Team (an industry council comprising Business Group and World Area Sales personnel) to prioritize and focus industry programs and business development activities that will drive customer engagement
Set the framework for Digital Transformation & Operational Excellence messages targeted at the key Chemical sub-segments. The framework should include KPIs, best practices and key business levers that Emerson can influence with its solutions, products and services. Provide Chemical thought leadership internally and externally
Partner with Business Groups to develop and position our solutions, products and services to increase business relevance with our customers and drive tangible growth
Align Chemical Industry Programs with the AP DX leaders & Sales Organization and their growth goals. Agree on metrics and collectively drive towards measurable business impact
Support the AP Sales Organization with targeted account business development activities e.g. Chemical Showcase sites, specific training, account plans and customer visits as necessary.
Actively work with DX strategic accounts and critical sites on business development activities to support Operational Excellence and IIoT/Plantweb engagement with clients.
Understand how the Industrial Internet of Things (Industrie 4.0) initiatives might affect the Chemical Industry and help shape the Emerson strategy to impact customer relevance within the Chemical space.
Advance the Marketing, Sales and Delivery of our DX Chemical Industry Solutions and provide context within an overall operational excellence framework. Work with Chemical SMEs and DX experts to develop Value Improvement Practices and Value enables to support the Chemical programs.
Key Skills and Knowledge:
Can paint a compelling picture of a Chemical vision and strategy in a way to motivate others to action
High degree of organizational agility – able to lead a multi-disciplined team through extreme influencing/persuasion skills
Disciplined approach to driving an Industry program – ability to engage with the sales organization and drive tangible growth
Chemical Operations knowledge/experience sufficient to allow confident dialogue with Plant/Industry Executives and position EMR as a viable trusted advisor partner
Business development skills.
Entrepreneurial mindset
Korn Ferry competencies: Drive Vision and Purpose, Customer Focus, Drive Results, Business Insight, Build Collaborative Relationships, Manage Ambiguity, Strategic Mindset, Organizational Agility.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
10 Years in the Chemical industry: automation, customer, or licensor experience ideal
Sales or business development experience
