Job Description : About your new role
We are sourcing a policy officer for our client in Government to support their initiatives at the EL1 level. We are in search of a high-performing individual who has experience in policy development and support. It is desirable to have experience with climate change and energy policy.

Your duties will include but not limited to:
Identify and lead research on policy issues, identifying emerging knowledge, risks and their implications on policy development.
Identify, define and document policy issues and evaluate broad environmental factors to ensure appropriate research framework.
Conduct detailed investigation, analysis to determine if policy intervention or change is justified and develop solutions for identified problems.
Develop recommended policy solutions and recommend appropriate tools to address complex policy issues.
Collaborate and engage with a range of stakeholders and manage feedback mechanisms.
Engage with senior stakeholders across relevant industry and external agencies to influence the design of new and complex policy.
Review existing policy and lead the development of new policies that align with the department’s priorities.
Monitor the implementation of existing policies and advise on on-going policy and regulatory framework.
Respond to sensitive policy matters and provide specialised advice and solutions.
