As part of our customer digital transformation a unique opportunity to create and lead 7 Eleven’s first software engineering team . You will b e a coach and mentor for our engineers. This team will start small, however, we have growth aspirations to extend across m ultiple squads and tribes . If you want to be a part of this exciting journey, apply now !
However d on’t get rusty with too much leadership, this role also requires a bit of hands-on work too. There will be plenty of opportunities to create code and contribute to our automation strategy and rollout. Assume a 50/50 split as a general rule of thumb.
What you’ll be doing
Collaborate with our Product Owners, designers, and architects to build lean solutions, and guide feasibility discussions .
Design, code, test and deploy the build and management of the mobile applications
R esponsible for the strategic direction toward refactoring into a fully React-based app and informing future eCommerce development aspirations .
Lead by inspiring others. Create the guidelines for best practice and coach other engineers to lead , this role will also need to own the guidelines around tooling and processes associated with all digital delivery.
Starting with a team of around 3-5 engineers you will need to be in regular contact to support career development .
What’s in your toolkit
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering or equivalent.
Extensive experience working as a software engineer in an agile environment.
Experience in : JavaScript , React, React Native, TypeScript
Native Android and iOS app (Swift and Kotlin) experience
Strong knowledge of software design patterns and best practices for software development
Demonstrated understanding of common mobile application architectures and common testing practices
Active contribution and leading technical decision-making process
Previous experience coaching and mentoring engineers
