The payments team is responsible for building safe, secure and high throughput payments primitives. We own a range of platform primitive components such as, but not limited to, Wallet, Reconciliation Engine and API Gateway. We take pride in building distributed systems that have a real impact on the lives of millions of users in our endeavour to out-serve the underserved population. Theories like Idempotency, CAP theorem, Distributed Consensus are more than just theoretical terms for us and have real bearings on the systems we build.
Get to know the Role :
We are looking for someone who possesses excellent technical design skills and demonstrates the willingness and capability to learn new technologies quickly. Apart from hands-on programming, the candidate should have the ability to communicate high-level strategy and technical details effectively across disciplines, locations, and organizations, including senior leadership. We require someone to lead a team of like-minded individuals with the passion for building magical experiences for our users.
The day-to-day activities :
You lead a team in collaboration with the product, business, and program management team to be on top of your deliverables
You will participate in technical and product review meetings
You are accountable for the timely delivery of high quality, maintainable and operationally excellent code
You ensure the timely closure of all the assigned code review and design reviews
You will work closely with SRE and DevOps team to setup hardware and microservices infrastructure
The must haves :
You have Heart, Hunger, Honour and Humility
You have at least 5 working years of experience in software development management, preferably in delivering B2C products/services/content
You have a BS/MS in Computer Science or other related degrees
You are an experienced software development leader in large scale, highly available Internet and mobile applications
You have experience with working and growing of geo-distributed partner teams
You have experience developing high-volume internationalized web and app experiences
You are well versed in leading a team; attracting, developing and retaining high-quality multi-disciplinary teams
You have the proven ability to make smart feature versus time-to-market trade-offs; experience using data and metrics to back up assertions of business value
