Job Description : Zoopla is looking for our first Engineering Operations Delivery Manager to join our product and tech teams.The role will be part of our agile delivery discipline but will specifically focus on maturing our engineering operational excellence and will work in partnership with our engineering leadership.Zoopla’s product and technology teams have scaled significantly over the last few years. We are introducing an Operations Delivery Manager role to evolve our incident management culture, set the standard for our software maturity and own the delivery of our cross-domain engineering initiatives. This is a great opportunity for someone with operational experience to define best practice across Zoopla’s P&T function.Role responsibilities: Leading the effective delivery of the Core Infrastructure team, including:maturing their agile ways of workingcreating and maintaining a delivery plan to break down the logistics of their workcontributing to a supportive team environmentEstablishing a data-lead culture within engineering leadership of monitoring and responding to engineering performance across our products (DevOps metrics, platform availability etc).Owning and evolving Zoopla’s 1st line incident management process – including contingency planning, continued definition of incident severity levels and responses, training/onboarding to incident management, the on-call rota and the post-mortem process to increase Zoopla’s resilience.Maintaining a roadmap and delivery plan for cross-team technical health initiatives identified by our Engineering Communities of Practice and Engineering StrategyLeading the definition, improvement and documentation of business operational processes across our products.Assisting with budget forecasting and tracking engineering operational costs for licensing etc.RequirementsEssential ExperienceDefining and running an operating review cadenceApplication of engineering data (New Relic, OpsGenie, DevOps metrics) to inform continuous improvement of engineering excellenceUnderstanding of approaches to cloud native development and devops style delivery (CI/CD, continuous delivery etc)Writing SQL queriesWorking with a microservice catalogueConfident facilitation of small to medium sized groups (up to 15 people)High empathy, situational awareness and active listeningStrong written and verbal communication skills, including data visualisationBenefitsEveryday Flex – greater flexibility over where and when you work25 days annual leave + extra days for years of serviceDay off for your birthday, house move, good deed day, and digital detox dayCycle to work and electric car schemesFree Calm App membershipEnhanced Paternity LeaveFertility Treatment Financial SupportGroup Income Protection and private medical insuranceGym on-site in London – or membership in regional offices7.5% pension contribution by the companyDiscretionary annual bonus up to 10% of base salaryTalent referral bonus up to £5KJob Type: Full-time
