Your Role and Responsibilities
Responsible for installing, managing and upgrading UNIX/LINUX based systems and servers. They are responsible for the maintenance, configuration and operations of Linux Systems. The system administrator seeks to ensure that the performance, reliability and security of the systems is maintained. maintaining the system with patches and upgrades, and security of the systems, ensuring system backup are configured and working. To accomplish this the systems administrator installs software, software upgrades and patches, provides routine automation; maintains security policies; troubleshoots; and provides technical support.

Infrastructure Specialists for Hybrid Cloud Projects (UNIX/LINUX) deliver multi-cloud & infrastructure project services leveraging their UNIX/LINUX subject matter expertise in both traditional and cloud environments. Services include design, implementation and customization of products and technology delivered in a time-bound, milestone based project schedule driven by client requirements and delivered using IBM service methodology. Project services typically involve heavy interaction with the client in support of concluding the project to meet the client’s requirements.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Diff bw RHEL 6, 7 & 8. Explain linux booting process.
Kernel panic/Disk RO issue/unable to boot the server/unable to ssh to srever
How to create ethernet bonding., How to configure routing, How to switch over Active ethernet, network Config files
what is SELinux/Server Hardening
CPU/Memory/Disk utilization, tools and its options, create manual services in RHEL7, 8 servers
How to create a partition, How to discover lun with uuid shared by storage/vm team, how to create/extend/reduce lv, Oracle ASM disk configurations
How to do patching/how to rollback the last update/how to configure and use yum and rpm/how to configure redhat satellite server
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
Tuning kernel, How to create swap, commands to check the memory/cpu/io utilization
How to list the cluster info/fence/troubleshoot/switch service group between nodes in cluster
High Availability, Disaster Recovery
