Job Description : ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Lead Engineer for our Growth Squad that is responsible for delivering impactful initiatives related to customer acquisition and customer lifetime value. Some examples include technical improvements to our voucher management and referral program, improving the way we can run and communicate promotions, and working on features that attempt to increase customer engagement such as education through Academy inside the mobile app.

Additionally we have a fairly advanced marketing tech stack to maintain and improve. This enables both business and other engineering teams to build better tracking and engagement functionality into their product.

As a Lead Engineer you are the technical lead of a Squad which is a small team usually staffed with a Product Manager, a Product Designer, and a mix of engineers across different seniority levels who are tasked to deliver a part of our product. You will have engineers in your team reporting directly to you, and as such, this role is within the managerial track of our career framework.

The Lead Engineer collaborates closely with the Product Manager to discuss priorities and implementation details, manages the engineers in the team as direct reports and helps them grow in their career, runs the development process, and is also in charge of technical architecture.

It’s a fantastic mix of managerial and hands-on technical responsibilities, that lets you develop and hone your managerial skills while still contributing technical solutions directly.
REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 5 years work experience as a software engineer
Out of those, a minimum of 2 years of experience with Node.js / TypeScript
Ideally, some exposure to Frontend frameworks such as React
Demonstrated exposure to team management, for example by taking on active mentorship roles
Strong understanding of online marketing concepts such as performance marketing, SEO, tracking, attribution modelling, etc.
