The Role
As a Staff Software Engineer on the Enterprise Data Platform team, you will be responsible for the evolution of our current to the next generation platform for our analytics needs in the cloud. You will be making key technology decisions, building & maintaining large production grade distributed systems that handle petabyte scale, working with our customers to resolve their day-to-day problems, and helping mentor engineers.
What You’ll Do
Anchor major team workstreams to build and improve large-scale distributed systems, grow the scale of our platform, reduce complexity, increase automation and burn down technical debt
Develop solutions for analytics users’ needs with an eye towards self-service products backed by efficient operations
Mentor other software engineers
Build key components of our platform via pair programming with other engineers
Setup practices to ensure the highest levels of operational resiliency
Collaborate with leadership, peers and customers to effectively deliver solutions and projects
Support production systems 24/7 (One week in 2+ months – Team rotation based)
What We’re Looking For
6+ years of experience in software engineering
Design and Operational Experience with large scale production grade distributed systems
Experience in one or more of the following: Python, Java, Ruby, Golang, or shell scripting
Good Linux skills and understanding of operating systems
Experience building and maintaining large distributed systems on one of the major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Experience with infrastructure as code tooling such as Terraform & CloudFormation
Good To Have

Server-side software development experience
Experience in managing big-data infrastructure at petabyte scale
Analytics background
Understanding of AWS and GCP technologies
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Experience in workflow engines / schedulers like Airflow, Argo
Experience with monitoring/logging tools and best practices
Test-driven development (TDD)
