Our Organisation:

Core Services Item and Supply Chain Technology (CSIS) Team is responsible for building data driven highly optimized supply chain suite of products to manage entire gamut of supply chain lifecycle for our retail and e-commerce lines of business. With our rapidly increasing footfalls in stores and exponential growth in online orders; this all has to be done to scale millions of owned and marketplace SKU’s complete inbound and outbound fulfilment lifecycles.

We are the Global Integrated Fulfilment(GIF) team for Walmart across multiple markets where Walmart operates. Our missions is to create the most trusted, reliable and cost effective fulfilment platform in the world. We are currently serving customers from 4500 stores in the US and hundreds of stores in UK, Canada and Mexico, with another set of markets ready to onboard on to the platform lined up in the future. We are a global team spread across US and India with some of the best engineers working on solving resource planning, optimisation and allocation problems at Walmart scale.

Your Responsibility:

Build, develop and guide high-performing talent. Define a long term talent strategy cutting across technology. Provide supervision, mentoring and development opportunities for the team who report into you.
Help define Technical Roadmap and own the entire product delivery end to end.
Work very closely with various business stakeholders to drive the execution of multiple business plans and technologies.
Improve, optimize and identify opportunities for efficient software development processes.
Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.
Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.
Models’ compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open-Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.

Your Qualifications:

An Engineering Degree – B.E/B.Tech/MS/PhD in any stream – Computer Science preferred.
11+ years of relevant experience with the following skills
Strong Java/J2EE development track record
A good understanding of CS Fundamentals, Data Structures, Algorithms and Problem Solving
Currently hands on writing and reviewing code
Understand the product and project management space with Agile methodologies.
Experience across the product development SDLC

What you’ll bring:

Experience in building n-tier highly scalable, fault tolerant, reactive Microservices using Java/Scala/Go, Camel, AKKA and RESTful architecture
Leading the Migration of Entire Legacy Platform/Services to Cutting Edge next generation Reactive Microsystems using Akka-Http,Akka Streams, which are deployed in Kubernetes Ecosystem in Public Cloud like Google GCP and Microsoft Azure
Designing and Architecting cloud native, distributed, high performant and scalable microservices.
Expert level knowledge and understanding of Java, Spring Boot, and experience working with distributed systems and teams.
Experience with refactoring/redesigning/rewriting existing applications is a plus (We are in the process of redesigning and refactoring of our current system)
Ability to build products with focus on testability, someone who loves test coverage (well versed with Mockito and JUnit)
Extensive understanding of Kubernetes, Helm, microservice architecture and design, and best practices around multithreading, networking, offline storage, and performance tuning
A disciplined approach to development, code review, testing, documentation, and code structure in a team environment.
Designing/Architecting Applications in No-SQL database such Cassandra, ScyllaDB, YugaByteDB and Azure Cosmos DB
Utilizing Industry Research and Innovation to build Next Generation systems to Improve Walmart Technology Environment.
