Job Summary
Reports to and collaborates with the Senior Product Owner to understand and manage a team that will implement the product vision, goals, and roadmap. The Product Owner clearly understands the end-users day-to-day needs and processes for product requirements, and ensures their team is developing a product that directly aligns with the needs of the customers. The Product Owner manages a team in the development of products, which may consist of web applications, websites, mobile apps, back-end processes, and data integrations.

Manages a team of web developers and web designers to implement the Senior Product Owner’s and Director of Technology’s product roadmap and leads the development of the product based on its required features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria. Assists the Sr. Product Owner in executing the efforts for system updates and maintenance as required by the unit.
Collaborates with the Senior Product Owner and customers to understand the product requirements, to ensure the product roadmap is aligned with the stakeholders vision, the project goals, and most importantly the customers needs.
Routinely meets with internal and external customers to gain in-depth knowledge of the processes and procedures used in day-to-day operations to analyze the effectiveness of the technology developed, while assessing the need for new features or updates to better meet the needs of the customer.
Creates, manages, and updates user journey maps to fully understand our customers, their different personas, and how they interact with our software to suggest UI/UX updates and new features to the Senior Product Owner.
Works with user-focused teams to define the self-service user experience, support, and needs for customers to implement projects and features that meet those user needs.
Uses the Senior Product Owner’s functional design to implement the product design based on an intimate knowledge of the customers and technology.
Executes the product roadmap within scope, budget, and time restrictions by working with UX/UI designers, web developers, and web designers to deliver user friendly products.
Works with the System Analysts to plan the sprint backlog for assigned products, balancing the requirements of stakeholders to prioritize the product backlog based on business and customer value.
Ensures that each system is thoroughly documented, which includes backup/recovery procedures, operating procedures, firewall and networking rules, application installation and configuration procedures, end-user help guides, and documentation of common problems and resolutions. Works closely with internal partners to ensure documentation is updated both internally and across front-facing websites for end-users.
Creates recommendations for the stakeholders to enhance and streamline business and/or customer processes based on suggested new products and/or features.
Interacts and collaborates with other product owners, web developers, web designers, and system analysts to ensure that knowledge transfer takes place across products.
Manages the ticketing system cases for end-user support of the products developed to ensure we are delivering high quality support by including the stakeholders and customers in the feedback loop and development process.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related discipline with four (4) years of experience in related field including managerial experience.

Departmental Requirements

SCRUM Certification required.

Desired Qualifications

Experience managing a web development and web design team.
Experience applying best practices during the design and implementation stages of web applications and database systems development.
Experience with PHP and PHP Frameworks.
Experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Javascript frameworks.
Experience with LMS and LTI integrations.
Product Owner Certification.
Customer service experience.
Project planning and organization skills.
Ability to foster an environment where employee growth and development is encouraged.
Should have willingness and aptitude to learn new software and technologies in web and multimedia.
Familiar with designing Entity-Relational Diagrams and managing databases.
