Key Responsibilities
What will the role involve?
A journalist with NCTJ or equivalent qualifications who lives and breathes news, current affairs and real life stories.
A journalist who can cut through the spin and gloss and tell the unvarnished truth.
A journalist who knows the power of words, pictures, video and social media and knows how to use them to maximum effect.
A journalist who’s bold and confident, who’ll be comfortable meeting people face to face and can develop a strong contacts book.
A journalist with an instinct for a good story, who’ll bring in their own exclusives and set the day’s news agenda.
A journalist who can turn their hand to multiple styles – from hard news investigations to features and profile pieces.
A journalist who knows what readers want, and knows how to find, develop and create the kind of content that’s relevant to our ever-growing audience.
The Ideal Candidate
Who are we looking for?
Strong digital publishing skills
Advanced social media skills
A passion for digital storytelling
Excellent communication skills
NCTJ or equivalent qualification
Comprehensive knowledge of media law
Sound knowledge of IPSO guidelines
A clean driving licence
A base in the Cheshire area or be able to relocate
