Edmen works with the Department for Child Protection (DCP) in South Australia – a government service that provides care to children and young people when living at home is no longer an option.

We are looking for experienced and dedicated Residential Youth Workers to join our team in Adelaide and work with the DCP to provide support to at-risk young people in residential care. The role will see you provide support with practical activities such as education, medical appointments, family contact, community and social involvement, as well emotional support and life skills development.

What we are looking for:

We’re looking for Youth Support Workers . This casual position will see you providing practical and emotional support to people with Youth in a residential setting. Working with our community service partner, this is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact and empower people to maximise independence. While it is a casual role, there may be future opportunities to transition into a permanent role if you prove to be a great fit and love the role.

Job Requirements:

Demonstrated experience as a youth worker supporting young people within therapeutic residential care
Have extensive knowledge of trauma and how it affects the development and behaviours of young people
Hold (or currently studying) a minimum Certificate IV in Youth Work or relevant qualification
Able to work a variety of morning, afternoon and active night shifts (including emergency/on call work)
Hold a current First Aid Certificate HLTAID003 (within the past 3 years)
Hold a current CPR Certificate HLTAID001 (within 1 year)
Hold a current Drivers Licence and your own reliable vehicle
A current Working with Children Check or former DCSI Child-Related Employment Clearance
Child Safe Environments Training will be highly regarded however not mandatory as training will be provided
Candidates must be prepared to undertake and pass a legislatively mandated Psychological Suitability Assessment if not done so already
