What The Role Is:

Socure is seeking an extraordinary Senior Cloud Security Engineer to focus on improving our application, system, and infrastructure security. This position requires practical knowledge of security concepts, automation, software engineering, and operations at scale. In this critical role, you will be solving security challenges at scale and working to help other teams create solutions while developing strong security culture and practices.

What You’ll Do:
Work cross functionally with various teams across Socure to define, design, deliver and operate an integrated, opinionated platform that makes backend engineers more productive.
Design and implementation of our next generation of microservice platform, with rock solid common services and components to fulfill cross-cutting features.
Promote best security practices with public clouds like AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
Perform security reviews to identify security issues and risks, and develop mitigation plans
Evaluate and recommend new and emerging security products and technologies
Provide security expertise and guidance on new projects and technologies
Perform risk assessments and build threat models of cloud infrastructure
What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s Degree or MS in Computer Science, Cybersecurity and/or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in application, secure software or system design, with at least 3 years in a development or security role working with development team(s) that delivered software
2+ years of experience operating and developing infrastructure and services in public cloud environments (AWS, GCP, etc.)
Detailed knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing and the development of exploits
Proficient with various programming languages such as Python/Go/Rust/Java/Ruby for automation or integration with multiple APIs (REST, etc)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Significant experience and detailed technical knowledge in multiple areas of: security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security
Knowledge of network and web related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, BGP and other routing protocols)
Exposure to multiple compliance and regulatory regimes (e.g. FedRAMP, GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, PCI DSS).
Experience with service-oriented architecture and web services security
Experience with the application of threat modeling or other risk identification techniques
Experience designing and/or reviewing the security of systems in conjunction with a development team
Experience in risk identification, secure software design, secure architectures, security testing, or vulnerability detection or remediation
One or more of the following security certifications: CEH, CISSP, CSSLP, GPEN, OSCP, AWS Solutions Architect, RHSA, GXPN, GWAPT
