Do work that matters:
Digital Operations and Technology (DOT) is a centre of excellence within the Retail Banking Digital space and plays an integral part in the purpose and success of CommBank. We are responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience across all digital touch points
Within DOT, you’ll be part of the Web Engineering team which is in charge of building mission critical and high traffic web applications. The team’s goal is to use new technology and trends to create highly performant, scalable web apps with an inclusive user experience in order to improve the lives of millions of Australians.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for shaping the evolution of the system by contributing to end-to-end design, delivery, researching the latest frameworks and packages that can add value to the project, with opportunities to learn more about front-end engineering. You’ll also be invited to participate in our regular engineering guilds and provide technical guidance and mentoring to our team as well as wider teams.
We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
Expert skills in React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, CSS Preprocessor and Web Accessibility
Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals and best practices
Working knowledge of responsive design and bootstrap
Exposure to source control and continuous integration systems such as Git, TeamCity, etc.
Demonstrated expertise in writing secure, high-performing, scalable, and reusable UI components
Solid debugging skills with the ability to debug complex technical issues involving multiple components
Excellent collaboration skills with User Experience and Visual Designers
