Position Summary:
As Senior Member Technical Staff your role would entail Deploying, automating, maintaining and managing AWS cloud-based production system, to ensure the availability, performance, scalability and security of productions systems. Build and manage platforms for public cloud services such as AWS. Automate, extend/build-on many open-source offerings to provide irresistible developer experience
This position is responsible for the deployment and maintenance of an AWS solution on Public, Private and Hybrid cloud models. The role will encompass the use of a broad range of Cloud Engineering technologies, Linux operating system , and application lifecycle management using Python and terraform
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Produce accurate, unambiguous technical design specifications to the appropriate detail
Deliver customer value in the form of high-quality software components and services in adherence with RPR policies on Security, performance, longevity and Integration testing
Estimate the size of development tasks in story points with the goal of 80% accuracy; begin to challenge others during estimation
Understand and follow coding conventions, architectures, and best practices
Master the domain knowledge for area of assignment
Take ownership of what the team builds after the release; consider customer adoption as success criteria
Work collaboratively across the Technology and Product organizations to ensure alignment towards business goals
Education, Experience, & Skills Required:
Experience in an Agile environment preferred
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
5+ years of experience in an engineering role
3 + years hands-on experience working in the public cloud, preferably AWS
3+ years’ experience working in a DevOps environment creating tools for automated provisioning and infrastructure management
Extensive experience in scripting and automation/tools development with Python, bash, shell, Perl
Certification in AWS SysOps Admin preferred
Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker preferred
