About The Team

Our Data & Knowledge Technologies team, distributed across Heidelberg – Germany, and Pune – India, is working on all aspects of the data-value creation chain for our scientific data & analytics solutions. We are looking for an IT Engineer (all levels considered) who is capable, talented, engaged and passionate about creating industry-strength architectures and solutions that unleash the value of data. We are a multi-disciplinary team working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, who value honest opinion and open debate. By building solutions that transform the traditional document perspective into a world of knowledge, we work on the forefront of Springer Nature’s digital-first strategy

Years of Experience: 5 to 8 years

Location: Magarpatta City, Pune

Educational Qualification: B.Sc., BCA, BCS, B.E., B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA and M.Sc.

The job is based in Pune where you will as part of Springer Nature’s digital product development team. You’ll be part of our big community of developers located in Germany, UK and India, to name a few.

What we expect:

Software-development experience (graduates are also welcome to apply) in Java 8 or later, Spring Boot, Maven, Docker, and Git. Familiarity with Python will be helpful
Eagerness to work with fit-for-purpose data models and storage technologies, from relational over graph structured to document based and key-value stores
Familiarity with Linux-based environments incl. typical scripting solutions (e.g. Bash)
Willingness to constantly improve the quality of our solutions and our operational efficiency
Knowledge about common tools and practices (incl. version control, test automation, continuous integration, clean code)
A team player with good communication skills and proven ability to be agile and self-organized
Life-long learning mindset

What you can expect

Create and deliver complex tailor-made data and software solutions to build & improve automated processes for acquiring, processing, enriching and delivering structured domainspecific data
Develop and operate large-scale data integrations, data analytics and machine learning in order to solve real-world problems
Work with and extend our suite of technologies and practices, currently including domain-driven development, cloud computing, micro services, DevOps & DataOps, Kafka, SQL and NoSQL data stores, Linked Data, machine learning, etc.
Influence every step of the delivery process and take ownership for what you build, from initial design & modelling over implementing in a team to continuous deployment and operations.
Contribute to the development of the team’s diverse portfolio of innovative AI and ML solutions.
We build our solutions incrementally, iteratively and continuously, so you’ll be able to see new work go live almost immediately
