Job Description : About the team:

Finder is on the search for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Growth Squad within the App Team. This is a new squad, and we are looking for smart people who like to get a lot done, quickly.

The Growth Squad is a collaborative team that will work together on the roadmap, design, and architecture of the Finder App, and are on a mission to change the way the world makes financial decisions.

The Growth Squad’s mission is to unlock more value for app users, as quickly and often as possible. We do that by collaborating closely among Product, Design, Marketing, and Engineering to build iteratively and launch high-impact features, and A/B experiments to learn quickly.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll:

Parachute into different parts of the app and stack to continuously build the optimal user experience, especially in the areas of acquisition, activation, revenue (monetisation), retention, and referral
Promote robust and maintainable code, clear documentation, and deliver high-quality work on a tight schedule
Be a strong technical partner across product and engineering to prioritise, estimate, make tradeoffs to maximize the impact on our users
Be data-driven and leverage data to understand our users and our product in-depth, identify areas of opportunity and execute projects to drive user growth, retention, and/or engagement
Collaborate with Design and Product on research, prototyping, and iteration to create a world-class mobile experience
Leverage all of Finder’s existing frameworks and be a part of designing and implementing new techniques and foundation work that can further improve user experience
Analyse and optimise the Finder App for efficiency and performance
Good team communication and collaboration skills.

Identifying, improving and automating team processes and workflows
Interviewing and recruiting new team members
Championing and embodying great software engineering principles to deliver a better experience for our users and an engaging technology-led engineering environment.
Embody, demonstrate and reinforce our company values while embodying Finder’s engineering principles and execution.
Quality and timely delivery of squad’s results-focused output
Problem-solving skills and the ability to see and create efficient and scalable solutions

Desired Experience and Skills:

We realise that everybody’s experience is unique and we value potential and attitude over experience and so not all of these are necessarily required:

Web3.0 / Crypto-currency passion and/or experience
Comfortable ability to work across the stack to deliver an outcome, including working with node.js, JavaScript, PHP, React, MySQL, and Docker (experience in all is not required, but the ability and desire to learn is).
Experience working with a cross-disciplinary team of Software Engineers, Product Managers and Designers based remotely in different time zones.
Experience and ability to perform DevOps work when required including monitoring, alerting and support.
Software and Systems Architecture and solution design.
Agile, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment and Continuous Delivery practices.
You’re comfortable with ambiguity and scoping solutions with your teammates
You’re comfortable providing caring and constructive feedback to others

Nice to have:

DevOps and networking experience, including monitoring, alerting and support.
Effective branching and merging techniques such as GitFlow and Trunk-Based Development
Experience with message queues, event processing and event sourcing
Demonstrable security, regulation, compliance and auditing expertise.
High performance, low latency computing on massive use, global scale platforms
Some experience with teams, team members and stakeholders working in different time zones (though it is not expected to be a core requirement of this role).
