Salary Package: From $107,404 to $119,510 (HEW Level 8), plus 17% employer’s superannuation and annual leave loading.
Appointment Type: Full Time, fixed-term role for 2 years
Location: Macquarie University, North Ryde
THE ROLE
The Senior Technology Specialist provides technical leadership and both strategic and operational IT support and advice to users in one or more technology subject matter domains relevant to the MQ IT environment.
The role will support a range of IT Projects across Core IT, Student Systems and Corporate Systems. The role will be allocated exclusively to the project space, but will work closely with BAU resources to ensure delivery alignment.
About You
You will have relevant tertiary qualification with knowledge and experience of IT service management concepts as well as Knowledge and extensive experience as a subject matter expert in a relevant technical discipline, which may be supported by relevant certifications (such as MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, Azure, CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE, PCNSA, etc.)
You will have experience working with project teams, undertaking business needs analysis, identifying alternative solutions, assessing risk and feasibility, and recommending new approaches. You will have directed and liaised with suppliers to support service design and delivery, as well as contributed to incident response, resolution and post-incident analysis of major incidents.

Technical experience with systems development, database management and system administration.
Significant expertise in both the relevant subject matter domain and its practical application a complex business and IT environment such as at MQ.
Experience in business needs analysis, identifying alternative solutions, assessing risk and feasibility, and recommending new approaches.
Manage, direct and liaising with suppliers to support service design and delivery, performance monitoring, and compliance with relevant processes and procedures.
Provided leadership of incident response, resolution and post-incident analysis of major incidents.
Implement infrastructure solutions for complex enterprise systems within complex multi-stakeholder and formalised project delivery environments.
