We are looking for a software developer who enjoys the applied side of software/technology development and interacting directly with end users on a day-to-day basis to foster a continuous feedback and improvement loop.
What we’re looking for:
A Software Developer who wants to develop a broad skillset, covering Web services (C#, .net Core), working with infrastructure technologies (Azure, DevOps), front end development (Angular), and supporting with ad-hoc coding solutions (Python, C#). You must have a passion for learning and challenging the status quo.
Likes working in small, focused teams, using Agile methods, to deliver output to the business quickly and effectively.
Our team is a combination of insurance experts (actuaries) and technology experts, who work collaboratively together to provide a market-leading service to our clients.
The technology/software sub-team that you will join is made up of a senior developer and two apprentice-level developers, with this role sitting in the middle of that team. The role will consist of using the skills on a variety of technology and software development tasks, supporting the actuaries and end-users, and innovatively solving business problems using technology.
Our team is growing, we work in a fast-paced environment and innovation is within everything we do. This is not your typical software development role.
The team is spread across our Gurgaon and several U.K. offices.
The Requirements
Essential
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, and relevant employment experience in solution architecture
At least 5 years’ experience working in a software development (or equivalent) team, which can be leveraged to develop bespoke tools and processes to meet our business requirements.
Key skills are demonstrable strong capability with C#, .net Core, SQL Server, Azure Devops, SOLID design principles.
Strong (English language) communication skills and the ability to work alongside non-technical teams.
Organisational skills and the ability to work with limited supervision.
Excellent analytical skills and ability to understand business applications and develop innovative technical solutions.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to delivery simple and innovative solutions to complex problems.
Desirable
Optional skills: Angular (or any other modern JavaScript framework), Python, PowerShell, Azure, data analytics.
Worked with an Agile development environment.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise workload effectively and thrive in a dynamic and complex environment.
Experience of software engineering practices and development life cycle
