The ideal candidate will be instrumental in building applications for music on web and/or mobile platforms. The candidate will be actively involved in enhancing the rich customer experience of Amazon Music and build interesting product capabilities that impact the business. You will work with Senior Engineers at Amazon to evolve the design and architecture of the products owned by the team. You will be responsible to set up and hold a high software quality bar besides providing technical direction to a highly technical team of Software Engineers.

As part of this team you will work to ensure Amazon Music has the best music experience for our customers. It’s a great opportunity to develop and enhance experiences for Music users first. You will work on build music features and capabilities on web and mobile using Java, Python, Javascript, Node JS, ReactJs, CSS, HTML5, and potentially native Android/iOS applications. You will be part of a team that obsesses about the performance of our customer’s experience and enjoy flexibility to pursue what makes sense. Position Responsibilities:

Work closely with senior engineers to design, implement and deploy applications that impact the Amazon Digital Music business with an emphasis on selling digital music to millions of customers worldwide
Own the system design and delivery of an major components of a system or application. Ability to collaborate, self-driven, handle unknowns / ambiguity and tough technical and business problems

Ability to learn any new technology depending on the customer and business needs

Assist directly and indirectly in the continual hiring, mentoring and development of technical talent.
Introduce new technologies, techniques and ideas that will immediately be proven in the world’s largest consumer marketplace
Great team player to lead projects of large scale, complex and ambiguous in nature

The ideal candidate will be a leader, quick learner and be able to work independently. He/she should be able to operate in a very fast paced environment where time to hit market is super critical. The candidate will need to balance technical leadership and savvy with strong business judgment to make the right decisions about technology choices.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent discipline
3+ years of industry experience on Web and Mobile application development of high performance and scale in nature serving millions of customers.

Experience in media-based (audio, video streaming) applications on multiple form-factors (desktop, mobile, tablet and mobile devices).

Experience in Mobile and Web applications development using HTML5, Javascript, CSS, React JS, Redux, Angular JS, API development
Experience with Javascript testing frameworks, such as Jasmine, Mocha, or equivalent.
Experience in solving deep technical problems and designing solutions that span across multiple front-end components and layers, both client side and server side technologies

Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge on developing frontend applications on distributed architecture such as AWS integrated with backend services, RESTful APIs
