Our Team:
This is the team that ensures our customers receive their orders as fast as they want and where they want, in a friction-less, predictable way. Build reusable SaaS products and services that manage our catalog and power end-to-end inventory management, ranging from replenishment and fulfilment to transportation. With end-to-end inventory management, ranging from replenishment and fulfilment to transportation, they provide our drivers and partners with the tools they need to get the right items, on time, in the right packaging to customers.
We are looking for Software Engineer III to join our Merchandising Catalog team at Walmart Labs. We know applying for and taking on a new job at any company requires a leap of faith. You will play a crucial role in optimising the Merchandising processes and ensure efficient utilisation.
Job Responsibilities
This position is for the Merchandising team. At Walmart Labs in Bangalore, you will work with small teams of talented engineers to build robust, distributed and scalable applications. Be given the freedom to try new things and prove the value of your own ideas and innovations and own them all the way to production. Foster a motivating culture of openness, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Ensure business needs are being met using software engineering best practices. Participate in internal Hackathons and innovation challenges!
Develop interactive, user-friendly applications using the latest frameworks which are open source and proprietary
Contribute to design and code review tasks
Design, build, test and deploy cutting edge solutions at scale, impacting millions of customers worldwide.
Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community.
Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set your priorities and deliver awesome products.
Experience/Skills required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
0 to 2 years total experience in developing Enterprise applications using Java, Spring-boot, REST, Kafka, Databases, Splunk, Caching
Strong computer science fundamentals: Data Structures, Algorithms, Design Patterns.
Extensive hands-on experience building microservices using Java
Exposure to Javascript & NodeJS, CSS and UI frameworks like React or Angular.
Exposure to Cloud (AWS/Azure), CICD, DevOps, Kubernetes, scripting, SQL/NoSQL databases (Cassandra), Agile Methodology
Strong understanding of design techniques and software principles.
Must be able to work effectively in a team setting as well as individually.
Ability to communicate and collaborate with external teams and stakeholders.
