Join our highly engaged team of Public Transit enthusiasts as a Software Engineer! Considering growing worldwide population and urbanisation rate, we see Public Transit being the backbone of the future urban transportation. We believe, that other trending means of urban transportation, such as bikes or shared bikes, car club, e-hailing and ride-sharing services will grow together with public transit to an aggregated offering. Our Transit & Intermodal Routing team makes an important contribution by enabling millions users with the best in class multi-modal and inter-modal routing experience.
We are looking for experienced software engineers with expertise in Python based back-end programming; who are able to work independently or with little guidance in the complex situations to solve challenging problems and find innovative solutions. Success will demand the ability to learn fast, adapt and apply knowledge into practice while continuously improving our products and services.
Who are you?:
Qualifications –
Bachelor or Masters in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Geoinformatics or similar technical degree
2 to 4 years of relevant professional experience
Extensive knowledge of algorithms and data structures
Very good programming skills in Python, GoLang, HTML, JavaScript and ability to learn other programming languages
In-depth knowledge of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, PostGIS)
Ability to customise and design solutions outside of off-the-shelf tools, and solve very complex data problems
The strongest candidates will also have:
Experience in common industry formats for the transit data, particularly GTFS would be added advantage
Experience with ESRI, FME, QGIS; ability to learn other tools
Familiarity with CI/CD tools would be added advantage
Experience with different cloud infrastructure providers such as AWS or Azure
