Job Description : About the job:
The Red Hat Partner Certification team is looking for a Software Engineer to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you will build and maintain tools and tests that help enable Red Hat Partners build and certify solutions around Red Hat’s portfolio of products and solutions, while enabling Red Hat’s customers to enhance their experience when using Red Hat Certified solutions. You will develop applications, certification tests, and refine existing code bases to help them scale across a matrix of technical scenarios. As a Software Engineer, you will work closely with Red Hat Product Engineering and Product Management teams to ensure delivery of high quality, technically polished tools for partners and developers.
What you will do:
Develop new features for certification test processes available for Red Hat’s certification strategy
Create and maintain tests and validations to support Red Hat Certification Program Policies
Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure and tooling for certification analytics and diagnostics
Participate in discussions with key stakeholders to understand and document requirements as user stories
Be familiar with open source communities and the process of contributing to upstream projects, while considering the certification vision and roadmap to align with downstream development and delivery processes
Work on documentation and unit tests for tools that are part of the certification space
Collaborate with Product Managers on prioritizing workloads around release schedules
Work collaboratively and actively with other developers and quality engineers in an agile environment
What you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science
3+ years of software development experience
Proven experience with Fedora, CentOS, or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
Advanced development and scripting abilities with Python, Shell, Bash, Ruby, Node.js, or Perl
Experience with application development using Django
Ability to find solutions and wins and achieve goals
Passionate about learning new technologies, enhancing existing skill sets and developing new talents
Experience with SQL (MariaDB, PostgreSQL, etc.) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis, ElasticSearch, etc.) backends
Competent in developing API-driven microservices
Software development life cycle (SDLC) development life cycle skills
Ability to use standard tools for development on Linux, e.g., Git, rpmbuild, Docker
Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) systems like Jenkins
Excellent communication skills, with ability to collaborate across diverse teams, communities, and projects
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Familiarity with Red Hat OpenStack and hardware components is a plus
Upstream involvement with open source projects, including patches submitted and merged upstream, is a plus
