The Merchant Experience Tech Family has been formed to solve this problem by transitioning all Merchant-facing teams into a super app development model, developing on a shared unified platform of backend services and merchant-facing applications. MEX TF will own the platform-level services and application containers upon which other Merchant teams (Deliveries, Payments, etc.) will develop to solve for their specific use cases.

We are seeking passionate developers with the required skill sets and then some, to join our team. In this role, you will have opportunities to design, develop, and maintain the Grab Merchant App’s components. Not only will you get to collaborate with the product, business, and program management teams to be on top of your deliverables, you will also serve as a mentor to your teammates to help meet the teams’ deliverables and goals. The Day-to-Day Activities:
Design, code, and debug applications with minimal oversight and direction
Incorporate user feedback to improve software design and function
Review product requirements, provide feedback and contribute to project planning activities
Contribute to and maintain engineering documentation
Develop unit test and module simulation strategies for software validation
Participate in build and test automation and other efficiency improvement initiatives
Work closely with the product development team to review input from customers to help respond to their short and long-term needs
Write documentation and requirements for QA to test deliverables
Analyse requirements and contribute to program management
The Must-Haves:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or commensurate experience and education.
Familiar with the dart programming language, familiar with various UI components and UI development, and have certain understanding of the Java language;
Experienced with iOS, Web front-end such as ReactNative or Web back-end is preferred, and well-known open source works are preferred.
2+ years of Android development experience, familiar with Android SDK, good component-oriented programming experience, able to develop Android App independently.
3+ years of professional software development experience
Experience with defect tracking tools
Experience with Git
Self-starter who can get things done with minimal direction
Committed to producing high quality, performant, and well-designed software
Committed to maintaining a strong set of software engineering skills
The Nice-to-Haves
Has built a Flutter app
Over 6 months of experience in Flutter
