Job Description : Software Engineer (MTS4) – Product Security Engineering
We’re looking for a Software engineer (MTS4) with strong development background in large scale backend services to join our Product Security Engineering team at Nutanix. Ideal candidates should have experience with both developing and deploying an embedded Linux system or appliance, who know how to build scalable distributed systems solutions and keep them up and running by managing complexity and fault domains. Experience or familiarity with relevant storage and networking background would be very helpful. We are also highly interested in candidates that have expertise in Virtualization/Container and Private/Public/Hybrid cloud technology.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop reliable, high performance, scalable enterprise services that run on public/private or hybrid cloud .
Work closely with product managers, partner teams and engineering stakeholders to define/refine what you are building .
Work in agile fashion to ship new features or bug-fixes on a continuous basis .
Evaluate and improve product performance, scalability, and resilience.
Mentor other engineers on the team .
Engage with customers and support to solve production issues.
Requirements:
Bachelors/Masters/Ph.D. in Computer Science .
Minimum 6- 8+ years of work or equivalent research experienc e .
Experience in architecting, designing , developing and monitoring large scale distributed systems, micro-services on public/private clouds .
Experience in building REST, gRPC based services .
Experience in database technologies such as Postgresql , MongoDB .
Experience in Security domain especially around CVEs, Vulnerability Management and Patching etc. will be a big plus
Experience being a tech lead, mentoring other engineers .
Strong Object Oriented fundamentals, Data Structures and programming experience in any of these languages: Python, Go, Java .
Experience with AWS SQS, Notification Service, S3 bucket, RDS , Apache Flink and Apache Pulsar are preferred .
Familiar with container technologies like Docker, Kubernetes .
Familiar with virtualization technologies like VMware, Hyper-V, Xen.
Familiarity or involvement with one or more of the following areas would be a bonus:

Hardware Abstraction Layers
RBAC
Linux Security
Telemetry
SDN
SDS
Event / Alerting / Logging design
Non Disruptive System Upgrade
