Software Technologist – Dev Ops
Job Description
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Enables faster software development cycles and time-to-market with a comprehensive automation of build and deployment.
Ensures high quality releases by optimizing interfaces between development, operations, and marketing, removing boundaries and impediments
Ensures high quality software deliveries by bringing in robust DevOps practices with effective quality tools for analysis, efficient dashboard for KPI monitoring, without impacting development efficiency
Designs and architects DevOps platform / framework and other infrastructural artifacts, with support from DevOps engineering team
Deploys new DevOps practices / solutions, by performing regular analysis of the technology trend in the market.
Works with the team to develop quick PoC’s to evaluate new technologies, tools, solutions etc.
Develops methods, approaches for DevOps within the context of the organization.
Influences and educates teams involved in the software development life cycle, focusing on design, test, and deployment from a DevOps perspective.
Responsible for development, maintenance and operation of the CI/CD pipeline.
Enables timely sprint release and on-demand platform and maintenance releases.
Continuously updates knowledge on cloud and DevOps products and how to apply them.
Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelor / Masters Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or in related fields.
Overall 5-6 years of experience, with a minimum of 2 years as a DevOps engineer.
4 years of experience in software development and automation.
Experience of DevOps Platform/tools like TFS/Azure DevOps Services, Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes etc.
Knowledge on cloud platforms AWS, Azure, or GCP and related Cloud DevOps tools
Experience with Windows servers and deployment.
Experience with CI/CD pipeline and tools.
Experience in Object Oriented Programming and scripting.
Experience with programming Python, shell scripting.
Strong in troubleshooting, root cause identification and resolution.
Experience with Agile methodology, tools and practices.
Good communication and documentation skills (multi site, cross culture).
