The role will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of service delivery in line with agreed timelines.You must ensure that all company policies are adhered to. You must also ensure that duties are carried out within set time limits whilst providing an excellent level of service to all Informa customers and colleagues.Informa takes the security and privacy of company, colleague and customer data seriously and you are responsible for working securely and supporting this within your duties.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Accountant is expected to assume some of the following key responsibilities plus any other reasonable duties as required:Prepare and submit VAT returns to a high standard in line with timetable, this includes both UK and overseas VAT returnsPrepare and submit EC Sales listsEnsure all relevant queries are followed up in a timely mannerPrepare balance sheet reconciliations to a high standard and to deadlinePrepare annual PSA returnAssist with the preparation of total tax contributions for direct and indirect taxesAssist with the preparation of corporation tax and withholding tax returnsComplete detailed analysis of general ledger codes for use in the tax returnsAssist with obtaining certificates of residence from tax authoritiesPrepare draft statutory accounts with clear and concise working filesAssist with the iXBRL tagging of the statutory accountsAssist with posting, reporting and any other work associated with dormant and non-trading entitiesPrepare National Statistic returnsAssist with the daily and monthly treasury back office processesAssist with monitoring team inboxes and responding on a timely basis including adhoc VAT, financial compliance and withholding tax queriesAssist with preparation of information for internal and external stakeholders on an adhocAssist with adhoc project work as requiredQualifications*Strong academic background, Accounting degree preferableMust be currently studying ACCA / ACAHas a good understanding of SSC processes and how these fit into the wider environmentSome knowledge of Tax & Financial Accounting processes including best practice in Tax & Financial Accounting, people, processes and technologyAble to work independently and work towards hitting deadlines and priorities.Proficient skills in Excel, Word and Outlook are essentialSkills & AbilitiesGood communication skills with the ability to build good relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, internal departments and key contactsAble to build relationships with stakeholders within and outside of the organisation.Evidence of making decisions at the right time based on the information availableRemain approachable under pressureAct with integrity, tact and diplomacyWork as part of a teamAbility to complete a variety of related tasksPro-actively solve problemsExcellent customer service skillsGood time management skillsAbility to be flexible within roleExcellent oral and written communication skillsOrganised, diligent with attention to detailAdditional InformationWe know that sometimes the ‘perfect candidate’ doesn’t exist, and that people can be put off applying for a job if they don’t fit all the requirements.
