We are looking for a Tech Lead – Backend to design and implement functional software solutions for an exciting cloud platform product. In this role, you will be expected to introduce new and promising technologies to develop high-quality, efficient software aligned with user needs and business goals. You will work to define software requirements and take the lead on operational and technical projects. You will be required to supervise and assist in technical solutions to your peer and subordinates. In this role, you should be able to work independently with little supervision.
Specific Responsibilities:
Develop high-quality software design and architecture
Identify, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
Review and debug code
Perform code review and code quality assurance
Perform validation and verification testing
Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products
Document development phases and monitor systems, ensure software is up-to-date with the latest technologies
Develop, update, and advocate for the technical direction of a product or part of an application;
Mentor developers to make them technically capable
Encourage healthy debate between team members and facilitate the decision-making process;
Take on distractions to allow the rest of the team to work more effectively;
Proactively identify and find work arounds for development challenges the team will face
Delegate technical responsibility for areas of the codebase or project to capable and appropriate team members
Qualifications: B.tech /M.tech in Computer Science or relevant field
Relevant Experience: 7+ years of appropriate engineering experience coding in Python/Golang
Desired Skills & Characteristics:
Proven experience as a Lead Software Engineer for backend development in new product development
Extensive experience in software development lifecycle
In-depth knowledge of design patterns.
Experience using system monitoring tools (e.g. New Relic) and automated testing frameworks
Knowledge of selected programming languages – Python, Go and Framework – Django/Gin.
Should be the go-to person for patterns and decisions on above technologies
Should have ownership of setting up frameworks and boilerplates for engineers to start working on features.
In-depth knowledge of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB)
Familiarity with various operating systems (Linux, Mac OS, Windows)
Exposure to JIRA, Docker, Networks, Azure, BlobStorage, Auth0, OpenAuth, GIS Tools
Experience with Service Mesh (Istio), Service discovery (Consul) is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach team members on technical tasks and communicate effectively with all stakeholders in product development (product owners, architects, team leads, developers)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with keen attention to detail
